TORQUAY is a thriving seaside town and birthplace of the Queen of Crime, Agatha Christie. Follow in her footsteps on the Princess Pier where she roller skated in her childhood. Or soak in some literary insight on the Agatha Christie Mile, a route of 12 stops taking in some of the locations that inspired her books. The town is also part of a UNESCO Global Geopark due to its location on the Jurassic Coast. Its a real foodie town too, with an array of fresh seafood available at the nearby fish market and local restaurants. There are also many independent shops to browse.

Located in a picturesque valley BUCKFAST ABBEY is home to a community of Roman Catholic Benedictine Monks and is a place of beauty and tranquillity. The Abbey Church is quite spectacular, combining medieval design features with modern materials and building techniques. The interior is lavish, with arched aisles, patterned tiling on the floors and intricate stone carvings. Here you can not only visit the abbey but wander through the gardens, browse the shops and enjoy refreshments at the restaurant.
Take a step back in time on the SOUTH DEVON RAILWAY. This heritage railway recreates the golden age of travel as it was between the 1930’s and 1960’s, the traditional Great Western branch line runs from Buckfastleigh to Totnes. Our journey takes us on a 14-mile return journey as it meanders alongside the River Dart through glorious Devon countryside! Whilst on board enjoy a delicious DEVON CREAM TEA.
