Hotel Information

The 3 star Royal Victoria Hotel, Llanberis is uniquely located close to the foot of Mount Snowdon and surrounded by its own gardens. All rooms are ensuite with modern decor and have telephone, television, hairdryer, iron/board and tea/coffee facilities. The hotel has Wi-Fi and a lift.

The bustling village of LLANBERIS lies at the foot of Snowdon and on the edge of the lake, Llyn Padarn. The village is also home to the National Slate Museum, Llanberis Lake Railway and the famous Snowdon Mountain Railway.

LLANBERIS LAKE RAILWAY Enjoy a gentle ride behind a vintage steam engine along the shores of Lake Padarn; look out for Dolbadarn Castle, cross Britain’s shortest river and pass Llanberis’ twin lakes. The five mile return journey runs through Padarn Country Park and joins the 1845 slate railway route along the shores of lake Padarn and Penllyn. Along the way you will have stunning views of Snowdon, the highest peak in England and Wales.

NATIONAL SLATE MUSEUM, LLANBERIS is located in the Victorian workshops built in the shadow of Elidir mountain, site of the vast Dinorwig quarry. Travel into the past of an industry and way of life that has chiselled itself into the very being of Wales. The workshops and buildings are designed as though quarrymen and engineers have just put down their tools and left the courtyard for home, while an array of talks and demonstrations including slate-splitting give you an insight into quarry life (free entry).

The traditional seaside resort of LLANDUDNO has hardly changed since its Victorian heyday, a stroll along its promenade takes you past genteel pastel-coloured hotels and an elegant pier. The town is renowned for its beautiful sweeping bay and the main North Shore beach is uniquely situated between the Great and Little Ormes. The San Franciscan-style tramway, the only funicular tramway that travels on public roads, takes you to the summit of Great Orme for some stunning views..
