The 2 star Carlton Hotel, Ilfracombe is a family run, charming, boutique hotel set right in the heart of Ilfracombe. The hotel has been restored to a high standard over the last few years and the restaurant prides itself on serving high quality local produce. All rooms are ensuite, comfortably furnished with television, hairdryer and tea/coffee facilities. The hotel has Wi-Fi and a lift.

ILFRACOMBE is a busy fishing port and delightful seaside town. Its steeped in maritime history which can be seen by its hotchpotch of cottages, workshops and inns found around the harbour area.            Unique to Ilfracombe are the hand carved tunnels leading to sheltered beaches and the tidal Victorian bathing pools.

 

The historic market town of BARNSTAPLE, set on the River Taw, is one of the largest towns in North Devon and from the 14th century was licensed to export wool from which it earned great wealth. The town’s pannier market has been holding markets for over 1,000 years, today they range from farmers markets to clothes, art and local products.

 

Nestled in the Torridge Valley is RHS ROSEMOOR, a hidden gem and an enchanting place to visit during any season. There are over 20 gardens to explore but during Spring there are several highlights that should not be missed. The Cherry Garden comes alive with blossom, the Rose, Stream and Woodland Gardens showcase early flowering plants and camelias can be seen in the Stone Garden. Plus so much more……

 

BIDEFORD, once Britain’s third largest port, is an historic port town situated on the estuary of the River Torridge. Today it still retains its maritime connections but is more widely known as a thriving shopping centre with a historic pannier market as well as being home to the Affinity Devon Shopping Outlet.
