NEWQUAY, on Cornwall’s north coast, was once a fishing port until a ‘new quay’ was built and used to export tin and copper during the mining hey-day. Today its one of the nation’s favourite seaside resorts famed for its laid-back charm, beautiful beaches and strong surf, making it a surfer’s paradise!
On the beautiful Camel Estuary is PADSTOW, a charming town with a pretty working harbour, made famous by Rick Stein who opened a restaurant here over 30 years ago.
TRURO is Cornwall’s only city! It has a character all of its own with handsome streets and a neo-gothic Victorian cathedral. Truro is also a popular shopping destination with an eclectic mix of independent shops, boutiques and pannier market. Not far away is PAR MARKET, one of the largest indoor markets in the UK with a huge range of shopping opportunities.
The lovely town of FALMOUTH, on the beautiful Fal Estuary, is known for its deep harbour and sweeping beeches. The town itself has a Maritime Museum and a charming mix of specialist shops, and galleries.
