LISIEUX is one of the oldest towns in Normandy and has a rich architectural heritage that stems from its long history. Thanks to the 19th century Saint Therese Martin its considered to be the second most important pilgrimage site in France after Lourdes. Discover, half-timbered houses, private mansions, the Cathedral of St Pierre and the magnificent St Therese Basilica

The coastal town of DEAUVILLE is part of Normandy’s Côte Fleurie and famous for hosting glamorous events; horse races, polo matches and the American Film Festival. The wide sandy beach is backed by Les Planches with a 1920’s boardwalk lined with bathing cabins. In the town you’ll find chic boutiques, elegant belle époque villas and many half-timbered buildings.

 

The pretty harbour town of HONFLEUR is another must see destination. The Vieux-Basin (old harbour) lined with 16th & 18th century town houses and 15th century St Catherine’s Church, a vaulted timber structure erected by shipbuilders.

During a tour of a CALVADOS DISTILLERY we learn how this region’s famous apple and pear brandy is produced and also enjoy a TASTING OF BRANDY, CIDER AND CHEESE.

Accompanied by a local guide we tour the D-DAY LANDING BEACHES. It was on the 6 June 1944 the largest and most complex, combined airborne and amphibious military operation took place and as we tour the area we develop a greater understanding of this event.

THE BAYEUX TAPESTRY is a masterpiece of 11th century Romanesque art. The 70 metre tapestry tells the epic story of William, Duke of Normandy in wool yarn, embroidered on linen cloth.
