Hotel List

Devon is a county of great contrasts and on this holiday we explore the beautiful southern coastline and unique, rugged Dartmoor. Our hotel is set on the edge of Dartmoor and in these peaceful surroundings you can relax and enjoy the panoramic views towards Torbay and across the majestic moorland.

A scenic drive across DARTMOOR NATIONAL PARK takes us through some dramatic wild, open moorland. This unique place is full of tradition, folklore and history with a wide range of wildlife and of course the pure breed Dartmoor Ponies. There are a number of towns and villages, each with its own character; Moretonhampstead is an ancient market town full of spooky legends and ghosts and Princetown, the location of the austere and forbidding Victorian prison, once believed to be the hardest and most severe in England.

Enjoy a full day excursion on the DARTMOUTH STEAM RAILWAY & RIVER BOAT said to be the ultimate way to explore the area! Between the seaside town of Paignton and Kingswear, we enjoy a 30 minute nostalgic ride on board a steam train. A foot ferry takes you between Kingswear and historic port of Dartmouth. Between Dartmouth and the delightful market town of Totnes enjoy a cruise along the River Dart.

PLYMOUTH is known as Britain’s Ocean City and has one of the most vibrant waterfront cities in Europe. The jewel in the crown is the Barbican and Sutton Harbour, famous for its quaint cobbled streets and picturesque harbour. Plymouth Hoe is where Sir Francis Drake set sail to engage with the Spanish Armada, here you’ll find Smeaton’s Tower for some spectacular views across the bay.
