IGLS is a delightful village located on a sunny plateau above Innsbruck. It has been a holiday destination since the 19th century when residents of Innsbruck came here to escape the heat of the city. On your doorstep are stunning meadows and forests and the Patcherkofel cable-car.

A scenic excursion takes us first to SEEFELD,  a pretty alpine town surrounded by three mountain ranges. GARMISCH PARTKIRKEN is located across the border in Germany near the foot of Zugspitze, Germany’s highest peak. A popular Bavarian resort with historic facades, cobblestone streets and pretty painted houses. Nearby is OBERAMMERGAU, famous for its once-a-decade performance of the Passion Play. But there is so much more to this town.  Ettaler Street is like walking through a scene from a story book with its hand painted murals on the buildings, also the town has a tradition for wood carving with many quaint woodcarving shops. We return via the dramatic FERN PASS, a high alpine road with road with fantastic views!

The BRENNER PASS links Austria and Italy and we take this road to the spa town of MERANO.  The town has a fascinating blend of Italian and Tyrolean cultures and is surrounded by orchards and vineyards which are sheltered by the mountains.

INNSBRUCK capital of the Alps! Discover narrow streets, historic squares, gothic and baroque buildings and not forgetting Innsbruck’s famous Golden Roof with its 2,738 copper tiles. For impressive views of the Inn valley and surrounding mountains take the gondola ride up Seegrube.

LAKE ACHENSEE is set in the heart of the Rofan Alps and is an absolute must! This beautiful lake, largest in the Tyrol, is also known as the ‘Fjord of the Alps’. Also enjoy a ride on the ACHENSEE COG RAILWAY.
