A popular Bavarian resort with historic facades, cobblestone streets and pretty painted houses. Nearby is OBERAMMERGAU, famous for its once-a-decade performance of the Passion Play. But there is so much more to this town. Ettaler Street is like walking through a scene from a story book with its hand painted murals on the buildings, also the town has a tradition for wood carving with many quaint woodcarving shops. We return via the dramatic FERN PASS, a high alpine road with road with fantastic views!
The BRENNER PASS links Austria and Italy and we take this road to the spa town of MERANO. The town has a fascinating blend of Italian and Tyrolean cultures and is surrounded by orchards and vineyards which are sheltered by the mountains.
