VALKENBURG is an enchanting Dutch town that has a fairy-tale setting with cobbled streets, charming shops, castle ruins, and a labyrinth of underground caves! Its these ancient caves that make Valkenburg Christmas Market truly unique. Each year they are beautifully decorated with festive stalls selling all kinds of traditional gifts, sweets, food and drink. Whilst in the caves you can also see the impressive mural paintings, sculptures, and a unique 18th century chapel.
During the Christmas Market the castle ruins are also open, its Hollands’s only hilltop castle and you can wander from the Great Hall to the towers, dungeons and old chapel.

During the festive season ‘Magical Maastricht’ comes to life with a wonderful decorated path of light through its historic old quarter, linking squares and streets together. As you follow the path through the picturesque city be mesmerised by glittering chandeliers at Plein 1992 and Market Squares, catch the reflections of the magically-lit St Servaasburg over the Maas river and enjoy a romantic moment beneath 200 mistletoe shaped lamps adorning the trees! At the centre of the festivities is Vrijthof Square where you’ll find a great many stalls selling Christmas gifts, a Ferris wheel and ice-skating rink.
