The delightful town of BARDOLINO is our home during our stay on Lake Garda. Its located at the widest point of the lake and surrounded by gentle hills covered in olive groves, grapevines and classic cypress trees. At its centre is the old town with a blend of beautiful stone streets and pretty buildings. A town square leads to the charming harbour and miles of lakeside promenade. From here its possible to take a ferry to the beautiful historic walled town of Lazise.
The REDAELLI DE ZINIS VINEYARD has been owned by the same family for eleven generations, producing wines, spumante and distilled drinks. The vineyards here are cultivated with total respect for traditional farming and do not use chemical or herbicidal products. Its here we can indulge in some delicious wine-tasting and enjoy a visit to the cellars.
SALO is a pretty lakeside town said to have the longest promenade on the whole of Lake Garda! The old town is small but attractive with charming streets full of tall, colourful houses. And at the busy Piazza Vittoria you can watch the ferries arriving from the other towns around the lake.
FRANTOIO MANESTRINI OLIVE GARDEN AND MILL – discover the world of olive oil! Visit the beautiful olive groves and learn about olive cultivation. Then on to the oil mill! Here you’ll discover the various phases involved in the production of oil with an informative commentary describing the milling techniques. Finally you’ll have an opportunity to sample some olives, olive oil and wine.
SIRMIONE is known as the jewel in Lake Garda’s crown! The town is set on a beautiful peninsula and is dominated by a thirteenth-century moated castle, from its ramparts and tower you have the most wonderful views of the town and lake. Exploring is made easy as the historical centre is pedestrianised, discover narrow winding lanes, lake views, a beach, pretty souvenir shops and many restaurants.
Located in the hills of Lake Garda is TRATTORIA DA ARTURO an authentic eatery owned by Fabio, a local farmer and landowner. Here we experience an outstanding lunch; some of the best handmade pasta you will ever taste, ’bigoli al ragu’, superb grilled meats and homemade wine.
