Hotel Information

The 3 star Old Barn Hotel, Grantham is a charming rustic hotel set in the beautiful countryside of Grantham. A contemporary bar, comfortable lounge and atmospheric restaurant complete the scene. All rooms are en suite with television, telephone, tea/coffee facilities, hairdryer and iron/board. The hotel has an indoor swimming pool, lift and Wi-Fi is available.

BURGHLEY HOUSE is a stunning Tudor mansion built by Sir William Cecil, Queen Elizabeth’s Lord High Treasurer! This palatial Elizabethan house is still a much, loved family home inviting you to explore 18 of its dramatic state rooms, historic collection of paintings, ceramics and works of art.

What better way to relax and unwind than with a cruise around RUTLAND WATER, a large, horseshoe-shaped reservoir set within 3,000 acres of beautiful English countryside. It’s the largest artificial lake in Europe, home to several breeding pairs of ospreys and located on the borders of Nottinghamshire, Lincolnshire and Leicestershire.

DODDINGTON HALL & GARDENS is a superb Elizabethan manor which has never been sold or cleared out since it was completed in 1600. It has many fascinating collections of furniture, weaponry, paintings and household objects. The romantic gardens are said to be just as spectacular as the house itself remaining faithful to its original Elizabethan layout.

NEWARK is a picturesque market town, famed for its Castle and role in the English Civil War. The town is peppered with antique shops brimming with treasures and has an array of museums to explore including the National Civil War Centre, Newark Air Museum and National Holocaust Centre.

Lovingly described as ‘a theme park for gardeners’ BARNSDALE GARDENS covers eight acres and has 38 eight individual gardens to explore. They  were created by Geoff Hamilton for BBC Gardeners’ World and will excite the keen gardener and at the same inspire the armchair gardener.
