Hotel Information

The 4 star Salthouse Harbour Hotel is located in Neptune Marina and is a stylish old dockland building on Ipswich’s waterfront. This modern hotel’s redesign includes a collection of art which is imaginatively featured throughout the hotel. All rooms are en suite, individual and contemporary in design with television, hairdryer, tea/coffee facilities and Wi-Fi. The hotel has a lift.

The BETH CHATTO GARDENS were created by ten times Chelsea Gold Medal winner, Beth Chatto. From a desolate wasteland that was deemed unfit for fruit farming she researched plants and transformed this landscape into an amazing series of gardens. Each of those gardens has become an example of working with nature to find the right plants for the right place!

COLCHESTER has a rich history dating back over 2000 years. It was Britain’s first city and former capital of Roman Britain! There is much to explore from its Castle, which has the largest Norman Keep in Europe, to Roman ruins and numerous medieval buildings.

Picturesque SOUTHWOLD is a quintessentially British seaside town, with a wonderful sandy beach and promenade lined with colourful beach-huts. It has a pretty pier with little shops and traditional amusements and a landmark lighthouse too.

Situated within the Suffolk Coast and Heaths Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is the river Deben. A 2 hour DEBEN RIVER CRUISE with informative commentary takes us by some of the most beautiful, scenic spots on the East Coast whilst enjoying a tea and scones.

A holiday to Suffolk wouldn’t quite be complete without visiting CONSTABLE COUNTRY where John Constable lived and created most of his paintings.  We visit Dedham Vale, the chocolate-box village of Lavenham, known as England’s finest medieval village and the ancient market town of Sudbury.

COLNE VALLEY RAILWAY soak-up the atmosphere of this award-winning period country railway, this pretty line is almost a mile long, with relocated station buildings, signal boxes and bridges all lovingly restored and rebuilt. Also discover a large and varied collection of vintage steam and diesel engines, carriages and waggons.
