The unique 4 star Mickleover Hotel, close to Mickleover village in Derbyshire, offers a warm welcome and is in the ideal location for exploring the area. CROMFORD WHARF is where we begin a 2 hour cruise through the picturesque Derwent Valley with an informative commentary. SIR RICHARD ARKWRIGHT’S CROMFORD MILLS, a UNESCO heritage site. Enjoy a mill and village tour to hear how in the 18th century the valley changed the world with the first successful water powered cotton spinning mill.

At the NATIONAL BREWERY CENTRE, Burton on Trent an experienced guide will share their historical knowledge and amusing anecdotes about the brewery as you enjoy a FULL FLAGON TOUR, which is finished off with a tasting!

Derbyshire’s longest heritage railway is the ECCELSTONE VALLEY RAILWAY, sit back and relax as you enjoy the nostalgic return journey between Wirksworth and Duffield. Also included is a CREAM TEA.

In Bakewell is where you find the OLD ORIGINAL BAKWELL PUDDING SHOP, here you can assemble you own Bakewell Pudding to take home. You won’t be told everything as this is a closely guarded secret but you may be able to entice some secrets from your Pudding Shop guide!

The CRICH TRAMWAY VILLAGE transports you back in time, ride on the vintage trams and visit the period shops, tearooms and a pub. Follow the Woodland Walk & Sculpture Trail as it winds its way through native woodland dotted with sculptures for breath-taking views across the Derwent Valley.
