TORQUAY is a thriving seaside town which has been designated a UNESCO Global Geopark due to its location on the Jurassic Coast. Its a real foodie town too with an array of fresh seafood available at the nearby fish market and local restaurants. There is also many independent shops to browse, wonderful gardens to explore and from the harbour its possible to take a ferry to Brixham & Dartmouth.
Enjoy exceptional scenery on board the PAIGNTON & DARTMOUTH STEAM RAILWAY. From Paignton we travel along the spectacular English Riviera coastline, through the pretty stations of Goodrington and Churston, then on through the wooded slopes of Long Wood bordering the Dart Estuary and Kingswear. From here you board a foot ferry across the river Dart to the historic town of Dartmouth.
DARTMOUTH is an enchanting, historic town with a perfect riverside location. The streets are full of character, with an eclectic mix of independent and high street shops. Its also home to Britannia Royal Naval College known affectionately as the ‘stone frigate on the hill’, the Tudor Bayards Cove Fort and the 600 year old Dartmouth Castle.
