North Wales is where you will find spectacular mountains, charming towns and villages, historic railways and castles. On this holiday we discover some of the region’s highlights.

LLANDUDNO the ‘Queen’ of Welsh resorts has remained largely unchanged for over a century with an elegant promenade, pastel-coloured hotels and the longest pier in Wales. The main North Shore Beach is perfectly framed by two headlands, Little Orme and Great Orme, where you will find the San Franciscan-style tramway and alpine cable car to Great Orme’s summit.

Just a short trip across the Menai Strait to Anglesey is LLANFAIR PG the small town with the longest name! Then on to CAERNARFON, home to Wales’s most famous castle. Around the castle are cobbled lanes with some fine Georgian buildings all set on the banks of the river Seiont.

The medieval walled town of CONWY is a delight to explore, with narrow, cobbled streets, an imposing castle and a picturesque quay where you will find Britain’s smallest house!

The LLANBERRIS PASS has a rugged natural beauty, although scarred with numerous slate mines, its one of the most spectacular passes in Britain. The Llanberris NATIONAL SLATE MUSEUM, in the shadow of Elidir mountain gives a real insight into quarry life. Its designed as to look as though quarrymen have just put down their tools before home time.

BETWS-Y-COED is a bustling mountain resort, set in a beautiful valley in Snowdonia National Park. Most of the village was built in Victorian times when many artists flocked to the area to appreciate its unique natural beauty.

The ancient city of CHESTER is well worth a visit! It has the most complete city walls, the oldest racecourse and the largest Roman Amphitheatre in Britain, a magnificent Cathedral and the mediaeval Rows, where shopping is a double delight.
