Cross-crossing Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire we discover:

The thriving market town of BEDFORD is full of history, character, unique shopping arcades and winding back streets filled with treasures. As you explore you’ll uncover the town’s history in wool, lace and brewing, the Victorian gardens that line the river and probably its most famous, prisoner John Bunyan, author of The Pilgrim’s Progress. Also enjoy a GREAT OUSE CRUISE, for a completely different view of the town.

WOBURN ABBEY AND GARDENS is one of England’s Treasure Houses and has been home to the Earls and Dukes of Bedford for nearly 400 years. Within you will also discover 18th century French and English furniture, magnificent silver and gold collections and a marvellous range of porcelain. The 7th Duke of Bedford’s wife popularised the custom of Afternoon Tea in the 1840s, so indulge yourself with a CREAM TEA in the Duchess Anna Tea Room during our visit. Outside there are over 28 acres of award winning gardens to explore.

WREST PARK is where you can discover over 90 acres of beautiful gardens showcasing French, Dutch, Italian and English styles side by side. From dazzling parterres and fragrant borders, to stunning lawns and woodland walks, the gardens are dotted with fountains, statues and ornate follies. Wrest Park is a real treat for the senses.

KNEBWORTH HOUSE AND GARDENS has a romantic exterior with turrets, domes and gargoyles silhouetted against the sky. But the house has stood for many years longer than the Victorian decoration suggests, behind is a red brick house dating back to the Tudor times! Outside the 28 acre formal gardens include a walled garden, a maze, colourful borders, fine trees and a wilderness area.

BLETCHLEY PARK was once Britain’s best kept secret and home to the ‘Code Breakers’, famous for breaking the German Enigma encryption system. Today its a unique heritage site set within an atmospheric Victorian estate, where you can explore and experience the top-secret world of the WW2 Code Breakers.
