Discover Scotland’s capital from its imposing castle, a secret labyrinth, to the sumptuous State Apartments of a Royal yacht. And for something different a cruise on the Firth of Forth to Inchcolm Island.

 

The imposing EDINBURGH CASTLE is perched on top an extinct volcano and has dominated the skyline for centuries. Today countless treasures are protected by the castle walls including the Scottish Crown Jewels. There are many attractions to explore including: the Great Hall, the Royal Palace, Prisons of War and the One O’clock Gun which is still fired today.

 

REAL MARY KING’S CLOSE, beneath the City chambers on the Royal Mile, is a hidden treasures. This warren of underground streets and spaces are where people lived, worked and died between the 17th and 19th centuries. A guide will give a fascinating insight into the mysteries and true life stories of this unique labyrinth.

 

ROYAL YACHT BRITANNIA was home to Her Majesty The Queen and the Royal Family for over 40 years, sailing over 1 million miles around the world. CRUISE TO INCHCOLM ISLAND From Hawes Pier, near the spectacular Forth Rail Bridge we join the Maid of Forth. The cruise passes several landmarks including the Forth Road Bridge, Inchgarvie Island, Haystack Rock, before landing on the beautiful island of Inchcolm. Known as ‘Iona of the East’ here discover a 12th century Abbey and two beautiful beaches. This whole area has an abundance of wildlife including puffins, grey seals, fulmars, kittiwakes and occasionally dolphins or porpoise!
