CRICCIETH is a picturesque town set on the edge of Snowdonia National Park overlooking the sea. Criccieth Castle dominates the town standing high on a rocky perch, commanding spectacular views over the two beaches and is well worth a visit.

 

 WELSH HIGHLAND RAILWAY – travel as it used to be! This train journey has to be one of the most spectacular ways to see the awe-inspiring scenery of the Snowdonia National Park. Now fully extended you can travel all the way from Porthmadog to Caernarfon.

 

 

BETWS Y COED is the principle village of the Snowdonia National Park. A charming village with a 14th century church, numerous inns and shops. At the railway station there is a museum with miniature railway!

 

TALYLLYN NARROW GAUGE RAILWAY the world’s first preserved railway! This historic line runs from Tywyn through beautiful scenery, passing the delightful Dolgoch Falls to Abergynolwyn and Nant Gwernol.

 

BARMOUTH, on the beautiful Mawddach estuary is not just a traditional seaside resort, it also has a picturesque harbour, Victorian High Street and its own Heritage Trail around the town.

 

 

BODNANT GARDEN is one of the most beautiful gardens in the UK, spanning 80 acres above the River Conwy and looking across the valley towards the Snowdonia range. Discover a wide variety of interesting and beautiful plants from all over the world, particularly China, North America, Europe and Japan.

The 3 star Lion Hotel, Criccieth is ideally situated on the village green with stunning views of the coast, mountains and Criccieth’s ancient castle.

All rooms are en suite, comfortably furnished with television, telephone, hairdryer and tea/coffee facilities. Some rooms are located across the courtyard in the Castle View Cottage, these rooms offer supreme views of the Castle (no lift access).

The hotel has Wi-Fi and a lift in the main building, which serves most rooms.
