The Isle of Man is an island of contrasts combining simplicity with sophistication; traditional and modern attractions; rolling countryside and a dramatic coastline. Well known for the TT Race, Manx cats and the Laxey Wheel, we discover this ancient kingdom that is situated just 60 miles from the mainland, with its own currency, language and laws.
Explore DOUGLAS, the island’s capital. Some of the many attractions include; horse-drawn trams along the two mile promenade, the Manx Museum and many shopping opportunities in the town centre.
An ISLAND TOUR using a local guide. Highlights will include RAMSEY, the second largest town with bustling harbour and quayside. Also part of the famous TT RACE COURSE and the seaside town of PEEL, once considered the most ‘Manx’ of all with its own sandy beach, harbour and history of smuggling.
A nostalgic ride on the IOM STEAM RAILWAY from Douglas to the pretty seaside town of PORT ERIN, located on the west coast. This is the second longest narrow gauge railway in the British Isles and steams for more than 15 miles through beautiful countryside.
Ride on a MANX ELECTRIC RAILWAY from Douglas, along the coast and through the glens to the village of LAXEY, site of the famous Laxey Wheel. From here the SNAEFELL MOUNTAIN RAILWAY continues to the summit for some breathtaking views.
